Parish Activities
Students and Young Adults
Studying in Rome for one or two semesters: every year, many young adults fulfill this wish. You are warmly invited to the monthly student meeting on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM at the “Anima,” which includes Mass, social time, tours, and other themed events.
There are also many opportunities to get involved in parish life:
- Altar server service
- Lector service
- Cantor service
- Musical contributions to Masses
- Church supervision
- Participation in First Communion and Confirmation preparation
- Participation in parish festivals
Everyone is invited to contribute to parish life—your own ideas are welcome!
Exploring Rome
Do you enjoy discovering new places in Rome? Interested in religion? You are invited once a month on a Tuesday morning to visit different sites in the city. Through tours and a spiritual reflection, we consider what these places can teach us about our own lives.
Each year has a different theme. In 2026, to commemorate the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s death, we will follow his footsteps in Rome.
The day can end with a drink near the location. Guests are welcome!
A larger activity, “Exploring Rome – Special,” is similar but not tied to a specific theme or day and takes place irregularly. Each event stands alone, so you can easily participate in just one.
30 Minutes for God
Once a month, on a Tuesday morning, spend half an hour in the Anima Church with music, prayer, reflection, and meditation.
These brief moments are a pause in everyday life—a chance to breathe and recharge.
Afterwards, participants are invited to a drink in the parish center.
Shared Breakfast
Once a month, on a Tuesday morning, breakfast together is offered in the parish center or, in nice weather, on the terrace. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and treats brought by participants, sharing conversations that can range from A to Z.
Breakfast concludes with a five-minute reflection to strengthen body and soul for the day ahead. Each event stands alone.
Altar Servers
Altar servers participate actively in the liturgies. We help with the different tasks during Mass, learning more about our church and about Jesus.
Altar server meetings take place about twice a month, usually before or after Sunday Mass. These sessions prepare us for our duties, but also allow time for fun and fellowship.

Sacraments
Life is full of milestones, crises, and turning points: birth, coming of age, shared meals, sin and renewal, illness and death, marriage, or choosing the priesthood. In these moments, people have always sought answers to questions such as:
Who am I? What gives my life meaning? What can I trust? Which direction should my life take?
Jesus addresses these questions today through the sacraments, which illuminate and sanctify the crucial moments of life. In the sacraments, Christ himself acts through symbols, words, and gestures.
We are delighted to welcome you to receive the sacraments at Santa Maria dell’Anima.
Baptism
Parents are welcome to have their children baptized at Santa Maria dell’Anima. Adults may also prepare for baptism. Please contact the parish office.
Eucharist – First Communion
Daily Eucharist is celebrated at Santa Maria dell’Anima. The parish newsletter provides Mass times.
Every year, children in the parish prepare for First Communion from September to May. In May, the First Communion celebration takes place.
For the sick, elderly, or homebound, we gladly bring Communion to their homes. Please register at the parish office.
Confirmation
Each year, youth in the parish prepare for Confirmation from September to May, with the celebration taking place in May.
Confession
During church opening hours, a priest is always available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
From September to June, the priest can be found in the confessional to the right of the sanctuary.
Outside these hours, please contact the parish office or church staff to summon a priest.
Marriage
Couples are welcome to celebrate their wedding in the church. Please schedule your date early with the parish office.
Anointing of the Sick
Those wishing to receive the sacrament, or requesting it for a relative, should contact the parish office.
Communion can also be brought to sick, elderly, or homebound parishioners.
