Salviati created the paintings in the Margrave Chapel, which were completed in 1550. Particularly noteworthy is the altarpiece “The Deposition of Christ.” Saraceni is responsible for the depictions of the Miracle of St. Benno (in the St. Benno Chapel) and the Martyrdom of St. Lambert (in the St. Lambert Chapel), both of which were created around 1618. Lorenzetto, who was married to the sister of Giulio Romano, created the Pietà in the Pietà Chapel. The work was completed in 1532 and served until 1560 as a substitute for the still unfinished Anima altarpiece at the high altar.

The Fugger Chapel was decorated by Sermoneta. Although it is evident that his talent was less oriented toward monumental painting, his work in the Church of Santa Maria dell’Anima stands out above all for the precision of its drawing.
